I want to traffic in inspiration here.
A buddy reminded me of a speech from 83 years ago. I wonder, if it were brand new today, where all around the world everyone watched it live, if it might stir us to a collective aha.
I just took a few lines: We want to live by each other’s happiness, not by each other’s misery…More than machinery, we need humanity. More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness…We want to live by each other’s happiness, not by each other’s misery…in the name of democracy, let us all unite.
Two big wars each threaten now to pull in the whole world. It took 13.8 billion years to produce humans and instead of being awed we destroy each other. You couldn’t make this up.
We progress by overcoming challenges, and thinking about what to do all of a sudden it hit me that I’m the subject, not just the observer, of overcoming the challenges that we progress by. It is happening. Now. As I write this. We’re too out of whack to continue what we are doing and it could be that even in our lifetimes we’ll look back and see we’d done the shifting that revamped our world.
So, here’s preaching. All it would take would be intention - we all decide to do it - so let’s work on getting that. A big aha. It’s so obviously desirable that couldn’t someone just startle everyone with it - how nothing anyone gets from how it is now is as good as what everyone would get just by deciding? Okay, now, stay with me. Think Jesus. It makes for movie plots that we’d kill him again if he ever returned, but if you gave him prime time TV I bet he could do it!!!!!
Remember this:
Empress of the World - The future was up to me, and what I had to do was “let everything land in my lap.” I was to accept reality with no resistance or drama or story…The deal was that if one person practiced total acceptance it would be the trimtab to steer humanity to a new place.
On vintage day, Friday, I’m bringing you two more heroes who might have gotten us united if they’d been widely heard. More inspiration for getting revolutionized! I’m just thinking how dope it would be for Evolution Revolution to actually deliver on that title!

I remember one therapist I went to would lead me down the road of what was going on with me when I was at “war“ in my heart and mind, feeling like I needed to “win the war” she would simply ask me, “and then what?” And I would answer with some more fear, getting closer to the “win,” she would as me again, “and then what?” and again, I’d be one step closer to the win, by the third or fourth time she asked me, I realized there was no point to what I was worried about, there was no “win.” What is the true “win” for whoever wins this war? All these people fighting…. And then what?
I love that Chaplin speech; it's amazing how well the Hans Zimmer score goes with it. Looking forward to hearing about the those other heroes on vintage Friday.
