Brian Swimme is another hero of mine. It seems things started to go south about 5,000 years ago when social ranking appeared, placing women below men, and the domination paradigm took off from there with slavery, violence, war, and the rest is history. Time to end this and move into partnership consciousness! Is it happening? Is it fast enough to save ourselves from ourselves?

The person who has that historical story that moves me tremendously is in my YouTube playlist of Thought Shapers. Anne Barng has a very short piece and a longer presentation here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUPNg7heGmgfGkh8T1qwNJ5VmvpsCobQG

Thanks, Suzanne, for sharing my story. In case anyone doesn't recognize the domination-partnership spectrum underlying this story, it comes from Riane Eisler. Partnership is an incredibly powerful meme, and such a better way to live, for everyone!

Riane's longtime track of partnership as elemental parallels Brian Swimme on relationship being what gave rise to our universe. Single-cell organisms were the only lifeforms until they started rubbing against one another and multi-cellular forms emerged. It's been that same groove of combining as the way of nature until humans. We were the first lifeforms to be able to make choices, and we went from cooperation to competition, for some shorthand on the subject. Now, with our capacity to choose, we have to get back on the cooperative path.

It’s also just another reminder how amazing teachers are. They’ll never get the credit they deserve. They were lucky to have a good one, no ego, no hierarchy, just sharing of knowledge and embracing what they don’t know.

I'd put Roger Briggs in charge of revamping our whole education system, which currently emphasizes stuffing information in but should be in keeping with the Latin root of the word which is 'to draw out.' We are creative beings and not machines to be programmed.

Was reading the Anwar story, in tears - thinking "I must add this as a comment"!! So your question "Did this make you cry?" - Perfect. In tune xxx

Will also mention a movement in the UK - Climate Emergency Centres for “The establishment of vacant properties as inspirational community hubs for the benefit of people and planet.” https://climateemergencycentre.co.uk/

"Our mission is to create connections and build community alliances in shared spaces. By creating a network of centres in cities across the UK, we aim to share resources, skills, and ideas to strengthen resilience and adapt to social and environmental challenges."

Amazing sharing of knowledge and ideas so far. Maybe a good idea for the USA too?

The video is so impressive. It's the sort of thing that's wanted and needed, where we have to get local instead of just national for the degrowth that is so vital. A great idea and a great presentation, BUT, it's hard to imagine the self-starting, with so much it would take, is what people will do, and there's no way to tell how well it's doing from that video.
