Suzanne, I think these are great ideas. I would suggest Nate Hagens for this wisdom group you suggested: https://www.resilience.org/stories/2024-07-17/daniel-schmachtenberger-silicon-dreams-and-carbon-nightmares-the-wide-boundary-impacts-of-ai/

Thanks so much. That was lot to get through but worth the time. So many things were spoken about that I have written about, with well presented ideas about progress and how it has to change from being defined by maximization of profit.

Here's the comment I left that I trust will be approved and posted:

Great to find virgin territory here because it's been suggested by a Substack subscriber of mine to get your attention, Nate, and on YouTube there are 652 comments. You got recommended to me as a potential participant in what would come from what this is looking to deal with:

"I'm trying to pass the pro social baton to more humans to change the initial conditions of the future, and to kind of fight power in service of life, but based on what you're telling me, what, if 95 percent of humans absolutely understand and concur about these risks is, are they just like gnats that can be swatted away because of the power dynamics that exist in this industry and what's happening? Not yet. But very soon, which is why it now is important."

We are very simpatico, and I'm hoping you will be interested in a committee to get serious about what we can do now, before any of the apocalypses we are threatened by occur!

The recommendation to you is a comment on my Substack this week: https://suzannetaylor.substack.com/p/the-urgency-of-now. It was a part 2 to the invite the week before, and has a link to that.

Lovely if it rings loud bells -- for you or for any other wild thinker who reads this!

I didn't hear back so I messaged him:

I like you a lot. I have not been in your pocket. Someone commented on my post, https://suzannetaylor.substack.com/p/the-urgency-of-now: “Suzanne, I think these are great ideas. I would suggest Nate Hagens for this wisdom group you suggested.” And I’m now thinking about your podcast to present an angle I haven’t heard. All the fixes we need to make are in a society resistant to them because of what it values. Deal with the rugged individualism that prevails and you’re at a causal level of all of our malaise.

Our creation story needs to express what we learned from Hubble, that the universe is alive and expanding and we are an interconnected humanity. With physicist/mystic Brian Swimme, the best storyteller of the Universe Story, I’m working up tools to make it understandable that we are privileged to be human and how we it is that we would want to take care of the Earth.

I’m so glad to have found you, and I’d appreciate it if you would tell me who you’re happy with on Substack.

Suzanne, I think your idea of a wisdom council is great. You are very good in expressing your thoughts. I want to nominate Jared Yates Sexton for the council. My husband, daughter &I read his Midnight book. That got me searching for more truth. Do you think you will have to communicate by phone as on the platforms, the enemies can find what we say.

Hi Suzanne,

I would like to contribute to your effort, as you see fit. My experiment in creating a vehicle for developing coping strategies for the coming Great Simplification is documented here: https://tinyurl.com/EcoReality .

Ah Jan, I so would have liked to have been in some sort of shared reality, but I never could find anything or make anything happen along those lines. In looking to a workable future community would be key -- smaller things where we are heart to heart.

Being older now, it's a dream I've let go of. Now, it's on to the internet for what is possible, but still not a breeze. Passivity reigns. However, that's an arena I haven’t given up on and will add you to a perspective activity that still doesn’t feel like it has enough legs. Stick with my Substacks for whatever action does develop, and for what help you can give so something does happen.

there are many of us complex thinkers with a spiritual sensibility that have a longing for convergence. That is why we started Crisis and Transition: A common way forward crisistransition.substack.com to engage this exact conversation. Your post is right on target, IMHO. Hope you will cross post with us.

Thanks so much. There are new Substacks taking on the world as there weren't earlier on. I subscribed to Crisis and Transition, but let's see if we are in common pursuit. This is the comment I left on their latest post: "This Substack was recommended as 'looking for a common way forward.' But I wonder about that. This post is about an ideal alternative way to organize, not about what we can do in timely fashion to get us on a life-giving course. Check out what I'm putting out to see if there's common ground to work together on."

And surrounded and inspired by a Council of Wisdom, ordinary people, all of us down on the streets will be encouraged to act with wisdom too. Can you imagine? Wisdom being the value by which we all live? The seeds have been sown. The space is there as the weeds collapse and shoots of a conscious transition are appearing. Human beings are pulling through!! Humanity itself is growing up. At last!!

It's because there are so many of us now, not like when the human potential movement was in its early stages, that our combined energies could create a force. However, it needs some leadership from people who would reach masses of people with the credibility to get them to join in.
