Hey humanity, how’s about we grow up? At this stage of Marianne Williamson’s campaign for President, let’s get in a mode where we consider what she’s talking about and not get into arguments about voting for her. Twitter is ablaze with people screaming that they will be voting for her or not voting for her; instead, let’s listen to her.
She’s not your ordinary candidate. She’s a first. We’ve had deeply religious candidates and Presidents, but we’ve never had a deeply conscious one. We’ll see that Marianne is coming from a very different perspective than anyone we’ve ever heard running for political office. And she’s here at the right time, when we are deeply divided and endangered, where becoming caring, altruistic people is the most vital thing to do. Listen to Marianne for the wisdom she brings. She’s been communicating about such things for decades and I bet by now there are millions of people she has affected profoundly.
Should she be President? It’s odd to skip over all the other offices that could have been steppingstones. Maybe she should have gone that route. But she didn’t -- and deciding whether she should hold the office is not an immediate issue. It’s a long time before we must make that choice, and, in the meantime, kick back, listen, express ourselves in comments we make on her Tweets and in other social media, but refrain from screams about how she can’t win or that you won’t vote for her – or that you will. We don’t need any voters now. Now, we all need to listen.
About the Politico piece, that sounded as convincingly damning as things do before you hear the other sides, this is from Wendy Zahler. When the Politico piece appeared, Wendy posted a series of Tweets that are strung together here:
Hey! Wendy here. I was Marianne’s Director of Business Affairs for 17 years. I produced her events, I negotiated contracts for her, I booked her national and international engagements. I traveled with her frequently.
I left her employ on several occasions during that time to pursue other interests, and always returned because it was hard to duplicate the level of deep satisfaction I experienced in working with someone with such a high level of intelligence, compassion, and progressive values. So, I thought I’d be in a good position to address some of the issues raised in this article - which feels to me like an assault on a person who I know has helped hundreds of thousands of individuals whose recommendations for personal growth and political activism are always transformative. I am the “personal assistant who traveled” with Marianne. And no, I did not travel with NDAs; and no, cab drivers were not asked to sign them.
I did request that the one or two individuals who regularly drove Marianne, and who therefore were privy to numerous confidential conversations, sign NDAs. That felt appropriate then and it feels appropriate – and I would do the same thing – now. The suggestion to have drivers sign was mine. Regarding Marianne changing her mind about events that were scheduled – she did at times change her mind. And throughout the years I may have disagreed with her choices initially but invariably, in the end, her intuition was always spot on. Even if she later decided she wanted that very same event rescheduled, I simply rescheduled the event.
Regarding the allegation that she “burned through” two campaign managers, the facts are that the first campaign lead was never a “campaign manager” – rather, he was hired on an interim basis to advise and consult and from the start was only to have been in that role for three months, though he stayed with the campaign longer than that. The second one, the actual campaign manager, remained through the duration of the campaign.
Regarding the allegation that she “burned through” volunteers, I oversaw, managed, trained, and worked with hundreds of volunteers in multiple cities across the US during Marianne’s campaign, many of whom remain in touch with me today because the experience was that meaningful and deeply personally positively transformational for them, and they were thrilled with the opportunity to support a candidate whose views mirrored their own dreams for our country.
Marianne doesn’t have “skepticism surrounding mental health and antidepressants.” She has NEVER suggested that any individual not take medications that were prescribed by their physicians. She uniformly urges the hundreds and more, who regularly seek her advice and counsel on these matters, to consult with their personal physicians before making any decisions. I have NEVER known Marianne to “mock anyone for their weight.”
Is she a perfect person? Of course not, as neither are any of us. She processes information at a high rate of speed and her mind and thoughts are uniformly working on ideas and strategies to improve the lives of the 90%, and it can be a challenge to keep up with her.
I am the longest serving individual in any role for Marianne Williamson. I produced the launch event for her 2020 Presidential campaign and the majority of the many 2020 campaign events Marianne did in California, and I organized the East Coast College Tour, events in South Carolina and New York and Chicago and Atlanta and Ohio and Michigan and Kentucky and Nevada and Oregon and Arizona and Texas and on and on. I wonder why this writer never reached out to me for comment.
I support the work and ideas of Marianne Williamson and believe that she'd bring new ideas and a fresh approach to any leadership role she undertakes for this country. I’ll be supporting her run for President this cycle.

Great post, Suzanne. I've been following her posts, and I'm on board as best I can be. She speaks out language, which is Truth based upon Love, Respect and Kindness...the teachings of the Masters of all great religions. It's time we got in alignment or, as Joseph Campbell wrote, "The ants will inherit the Earth."
I went to a couple of Marianne's rally/meeting events in Carlsbad and Oceanside during the 2020 campaign.
I always liked her and still do, however as a candidate, her refusal to answer questions from the crowd was something I found unfortunate, especially as she was among a crowd of "friendlies."
I am glad her ideas are being presented. I like her and I want her voice and the voices of some other underexposed people as to be represented in the conversation. 👍🏽
