I so appreciate your posts. So wise and resonant… and now …how to “fake it til you make it” while we find the pathway to this illuminated island? Maybe we can “start at home”—Suzanne’s home! ” and in communities and groups of sharing practices and accountability to see what this future vision really entails…until the 100th monkey emerges!

In the essay contest a lot of the entries involved some small group getting it right relating supportively, and replications spread . Also, whatever the group focused on expanded its functions because of how well things went. The stories had these groups spreading and eventually becoming so popular that the whole culture changed. Stick around here for us to become a model group!!

Hung out with him a couple times when the FGC group (i.e. Foundation for Global Community) was still functioning in Palo Alto. Glad to see he's still in the game!

"Who we think we are is the governing force for our civilization. As we think, so we act."

I think its easier to act yourself into a new way of thinking that to think yourself into a new way of acting. This one of the basic ideas behind Church of Burn. People have disavowed money for millennia in words. But our deeds (even or especially giving it to charity) all tend reaffirm money. Each time we spend money we create a future world that is formed by our current worldview. Measured and valued according to our current 'monetised' ideology.

Here's a piece by Jonathan Rowson that considers the idea of acting ourselves into a new way of thinking. https://jonathanrowson.substack.com/p/acting-ourselves-into-new-ways-of?utm_source=profile&utm_medium=reader2

Whether the thinking or the acting comes first would make for conversation. Not a debate but an examination. Can you wake up in a moment? Is that as awake as a Zen meditator? There are cases to be made. Marshall Thurber, Your Money and You, was known for burning money. The drama about doing that was intense. Is burning money what you do as acting?

Not heard of Marshall Thurber and his money burning. I'd like to know how he framed it.

CoB's tagline is "Feel Magic. Make Change."

So yeah, challenging thought (especially deep ideology) requires an 'active' transgression.

He was a progenitor of yours. He was hugely popular and had some estate back east where he did trainings. Burning money was a big sizzle of his -- it taught fundamental lessons. However, I couldn't find anything about it online. He faded from public view but I discovered that he carried on for a long time and may still be at it. And there's training carried on for Money and You, with him as founder, that looks substantial.. Your should do a little digging. He was a powerhouse.
