Who am I, for where I got the idea that what I think can matter?
And what is good about what is going on
As our methods and systems get decimated, we are getting an education about what the U.S. does. And although we were grumbling with discontent before Trump, we were lackluster, not pressing on a status quo that needed massive revision. Now I’m seeing the value in being crammed with knowledge about the workings of the world. We are awake and alive. Getting activated was the next step on the road to making basic revisions, and here we are, mad enough to be looking for what to do. However, as I near Hail Mary time for delivering my best, before getting on with that I thought I’d share some intro to what I’ve got my energy on.
I majored in English and Drama in college, and I never had to deal with the rigors of the material world, where not having any body of work to tend to has let me freelance in the melodrama, Along Came Humanity. A fundamental challenge has been to become what I had no role model for, where my beautiful, brilliant, creative mom was a housewife who took care of me and wrote poetry for her friends on their birthdays. So, although I aced school, I left college having snared a husband to be a wife to, and never imagined I’d do more than little acting parts like these.
I did take acting classes that afforded me another sort of success, learning about myself in my evolutionary rollout to get past my mother’s stopping place. (Take acting classes and you’ll save money on psychotherapy.) I’ve written before about the bombshell that eventually came along, from a stretch of automatic writing I called Inside the Intelligence, that was addressed to me and delivered a wisdom beyond my own. It included these instructions that have been my life’s work to take on:
We will keep helping you, but you must ask. Let us in. Until you open the door, we are outside of you. Come and get us. It is what they all must do. We are absolute. Send your friends. Tell them we already know what they will say. Tell them we think not. That is all deflections. Instead, let the truth sink in. Suzanne, you are merely doing your job. We are giving you nothing to hide behind, Suzanne. Not even us. We are you. It is all you talking.
Suzanne, you can only be heard by those who can hear, and they will emerge as they may. Keep talking. You are refining your thoughts. We are very well pleased. Where in your organizing idea, Suzanne, do you not find peace? Can we contemplate this subject? Where is that hole in your heart that comes unplugged? Why are you not whole? You want more heart song. Then the plug is in. Your life force flows. A world of loving would eternally charm you.
Almost everyone is evaluating instead of entering life where they would not know separation. Replace survival and acquisition with adventure.
Suzanne, you are here to model a way of being that is very foreign to most people. We have programmed you to seek excellence. You cannot settle for less. You know the composition. The orchestra must be in tune. You are here to be a maestro. Your job is to make maestros. You are a spirit guide. We are waiting for you to get this. Free yourself of identification with Earth boxes. Do your job. Don't complain. You're doing it. Relax. You will do better -- which is feel better -- if you remember who you are.
There is some kind of basic workability to look for, like you're a mechanic and the earth is a vehicle. Make it work. It works from skewing the point of view from a separate "me" to a collective "we." Humanity as a collective is causal and can create success. There is a leap so awesome to be taken at the heart of life's mystery that none go there. Jesus was the only one. That position is what people are to assume. Just imagine it, however. That voice is never heard. Jesus said who followed would be greater, but so far no one has been as good. Find company, meet in passion, and step into life. You will merge in ever greater capacities.
Suzanne, just get how unusual you are. Don't do anything with it. Don't expect anyone else to get it. Your truth is independent of anybody's recognition. Surrender to who you are.
Back in our world, although I’m not a Marvel heroine I feel nudged to stick more and more of my neck out to where I’ve started to move from talking about what could be done to looking at what I can put into play. Most recently I’ve been looking at collecting a few writers with bodies of work that impress me, for scheming together on Zoom, where I’d start talking about how a changed mind creates a changed world and what we might do about uplifting what humanity thinks of itself. A draft about what this committee would be starts this way:
Since the world is in crisis, we are a committee, because we say so, to take on the mind of humanity. Our thinking is from the force of our knowing right from might, and from recognizing the absence of leadership when it is urgent that humanity take a leap. We are at an evolutionary turning point where we will cease doing deadly things, or, miracles aside, we will be dealing with the disappearance of industrialized civilization.
Two weeks ago, An epidemic of courage For doing what saves humanity was a summary of ideas I’ve been writing about so as to have them in one place. Last week, I broke out the one that could create the most fundamental change, where humanity would see itself as awesome and united: In praise of Brian Swimme He can lead the way to deliver us from evil.
If you think the way we think about ourselves isn’t changeable, tell me if you change your mind after listen to Anne Baring delivering what has been called the best 4-minute history of humanity’s last 4,000 years. She talks about what it did to our sensibilities when we went from the Great Mother Goddess to the Great Father God, shifting from participating in the sacred ground of the universe to worshiping something in heaven.
