I’m sharing personally here. If you don’t know me this is less likely to be of interest than to old timers who’ve been part of the things I wrote about. I wonder if you old timers could do some reuniting in the Comments and give ourselves a good time reminiscing!
I gave this speech, The Future of the New Age (Politologia e pazienzo nel New Age), at a conference in Italy:
I delivered my talk October 17, 1998, and hadn’t seen it in many years before I was looking for something else recently and stumbled across it. I was surprised at how the desires I expressed twenty-five years ago still are what we are yearning for --every day more than ever in these unthinkable times.
Bearing in mind there’s a long build-up to dramatic shifts that happen, like the Berlin wall coming down ‘spur of the moment’ after years of build-up before it fell, here are some excerpts from my whole talk where what I was thinking then is still what I’m thinking now, that any day could become the new reality:
This is where I stand, outside the bondage of followership, soul to soul, calling to mighty companions. This experience of ourselves as a One Life is the future of humanity…
We stand at a gateway to the next great leg of the human adventure, where we master the environment of inner space. After a long history of worshiping what's outside, we are landing inside…
What's primary is to head in the right direction. If you think life is about acquisition, you'll go outward and never get where pay-dirt is, inside. What you need to head for is this landing in the awesomeness of what you are made of…
It's like there is an inner light which always is on. Nothing can turn it off. This is who you are. It is a pre-set pattern of wholeness. That realization calls off the search for your light, in the knowledge that you don't have anywhere to go. You are home, and you can give your all to decorating the place.
