Let me do a few tricks
Some old and then some new tricks
I'm very versatile…
Here’s me in action again, as the guest on the People-Powered Planet podcast, talking about the essay contest and other ways we could wake the world up.
I’ve been drawn to my podcast hosts, from Future Wave, since I discovered Garry Davis in The World is My Country, a documentary they made in 2017 about an everyman hero who was unabashedly bold about declaring for the salvation of humanity.
Garry Davis (27 July 1921 – 24 July 2013) was an international peace activist for world government as a way to end nationalistic wars. His actions gained international attention, including support from intellectuals including Albert Camus and Albert Einstein. –Wikipedia
What an inspiration he is to me. There aren’t many originals like Garry – think Greta Thunberg. He wanted to get the world beyond any nuclear threat and he sparked a movement that helped to pave the way for universal human rights and uniting the nations of Europe. The world had been prepped for Garry by the movie, The Day After, in 1983, depicting life after a nuclear war. It was “the most controversial, most impactful television event in the history of broadcasting.”
Now, on PBS, click for the trailer and broadcast dates across the U.S. of a fascinating new documentary, Television Event, that Future Wave is a producer for, about the making of The Day After. You have to watch it if it’s broadcast where you are, and spread the word to your contacts. Here it is in L.A. tomorrow and Thursday. This film, like The Day After, could create the tipping point to wake the world up.
